Professional Tree Trimming for Lehi & Utah County
Proper tree trimming is one of the best investments you can make in your property. Done correctly, it improves tree health, prevents disease, reduces storm damage risk, and significantly boosts curb appeal. Done incorrectly, it can permanently damage or even kill a tree.
Our ISA-certified arborists use proven pruning techniques β never topping, always species-specific β to keep your trees thriving for decades. We serve Lehi, American Fork, Eagle Mountain, Saratoga Springs, and all of Utah County.
Types of Tree Trimming We Offer
- Crown Cleaning β removes dead, diseased, and crossing branches to improve health and airflow
- Crown Thinning β selective branch removal to reduce wind resistance and let light through
- Crown Raising β lifts the lower canopy for clearance over structures, roads, or lawn areas
- Crown Reduction β carefully reduces overall tree size while preserving natural shape
- Vista Pruning β selectively opens sightlines and views without harming the tree
- Hazard Pruning β removes immediately dangerous dead or hanging limbs
- Fruit Tree Pruning β maximize yield and structure on apple, pear, peach, and other fruit trees
Best Time to Trim Trees in Utah
In the Lehi area, the best time to prune most trees is late winter or early spring before new growth begins β typically February through April. However, dead or hazardous branches should always be removed immediately regardless of season. Flowering trees like crabapples are best pruned right after they bloom in spring. We'll advise you on timing during your free estimate.
Why Proper Pruning Matters
Storm Safety
Removing weak and crossing branches dramatically reduces the chance of storm-related breakage and damage.
Tree Health
Pruning removes disease entry points and dead wood, directing more energy into healthy growth.
Home Value
Well-maintained trees add up to 10% to property value. Overgrown trees do the opposite.
What We Don't Do: Tree Topping
Tree topping β cutting a tree back to large stubs β is considered harmful by every major arborist organization. It weakens structure, invites disease, and creates long-term liability. We never top trees. If your trees need significant size reduction, we use reduction pruning techniques that preserve the tree's structure and health. See our FAQ for more on proper pruning.
